The Hospitality Marketing Portfolio is an accumulation of the student's work, research assignments, and a demonstration of knowledge and understanding of marketing concepts.

The Hospitality Marketing Portfolio will be updated and graded at the end of each chapter for both completeness and presentation. The Hospitality Marketing Portfolio will count as 30% of the overall midterm and final grades.

Chapter 1

	Find one example in a newspaper or magazine that represents each of the nine functions of marketing and include an explanation of how the example reflects the function.
	Find three advertisements in a newspaper or magazine which promotes a different hotel or restaurant.
	Print the home page of three different travel and tourism web sites and provide a brief description of the information and benefits provided by each.

Chapter 2

	Create a brochure for one of the Bed & Breakfasts in Camden County.
	Create a list of all table-service dining establishments in Camden County and the main classification restaurant (steak, seafood, Italian, etc.)
	Write a two page minimum (typed) point paper on the importance of travel and tourism to the economy of the State of Georgia.

Chapter 3

	Assume you are the manager of a hotel property. Develop a 10-point program your employees will use for making guests feel welcome.
	Write a profile on three celebrity chefs.
	Develop a list of pertinent guest information that could be used to develop a data base or placed on a spreadsheet.

Chapter 4

	Create a brochure for a weekend getaway.
	Create a brochure to attract tourism to Camden County.
	Write a one page minimum (typed) paper on the history of the internet.

Chapter 5

	Find a newspaper or magazine advertisement that promotes a different hotel or restaurant than one already selected and label the four major parts of an advertisement. Include an explanation of each part.
	Find a drawing or photo of a specialty advertising item in a newspaper, magazine or on the internet, for a hotel or restaurant located in Camden County.

Chapter 6

	Outline a travel package for a senior citizen to Camden County for a three day weekend.
	Outline a travel package for a baby boomer to Camden County for a three day weekend.
	Design a PowerPoint presentation then print the slides on a handout with three slides per page that encourages female travelers to remain in the hotel during their stay.
	Develop a comparison chart that shows the advantages and disadvantages of casinos and gaming on the hotel property.

Chapter 7

	Compare the prices of three different airlines for a round trip ticket from Jacksonville Airport to a destination of your choice.
	Write a one page minimum (typed) paper on a legendary hospitality entrepreneur.
	Write a one page minimum (typed) review of a fast food restaurant.

Chapter 8

	Write a Thank-you letter, include a restaurant coupon, to an imaginary repeat hotel guest.
	Design an advertisement for your favorite Camden County restaurant that could be placed on a roadside billboard.
	Design a PowerPoint presentation then print the slides on a handout with three slides per page that can be used to train new sales employees in the six phases for making a hospitality sale.

Chapter 9

	Make a list of gender-specific amenities a hotel might provide guests.
	Interview a hotel manager or restaurant manager on their risk management policies.
	Write a one page minimum (typed) memo to a restaurant owner describing a current food trend.

Chapter 10

	Design a PowerPoint presentation then print the slides on a handout with three slides per page that promotes a travel agency.
	List a minimum of twenty ways the internet has altered modern culture.
	Create a web home page for a hotel or restaurant in Camden County and print it.

Chapter 11

	Make a list of ideas for a theme-oriented boutique hotel.
	Create a brochure describing the amenities, technology, and services of a high-tech hotel.

Chapter 12

	Make a list of goals to be completed in one year, in five years, and in ten years.
	Write a letter of recommendation for a classmate.
	Summarize three hospitality business’ training programs located in the greater Camden County area.
